Pay no more than €20 but you can also seat in a beach bar that doesn’t charge the sunbed(s).
And, you are also free to place your towel and your things in any part of the beach!
“Skalakia” beach at Agia Marina
This is another beautiful sandy beach and it’s perfect for sunsets.
Very close to Athens. Just take the coastal highway and turn right into a narrow alley, saying to Althea. You will find a free parking. Leave your car and take the stairs to the beach.
It is absolutely free and not organized, so remember to take all necessities.
An excellent choice.
With crystal clear water and fine sand, It feels like you have just arrive at an island!
Located at Legrena (close to Sounio), you will not believe that there can be such a place about an hour from the center of Athens.
Take the coastal highway and turn right at the sign "Stamatis tavern. Continue the road as it goes, until you find your car in front a canteen. Take the stairs and aaahhhh!
No entrance or other fee. It is free. Avoid weekends as it gets very crowded or look for a private bay between the rocks
This is a quiet beach with great views of the temple of Poseidon that makes it magical and fills the place with energy.
It’s about 90 minutes from Athens.
Head for Sounion and enjoy the wonderful scenic drive. Just before the temple, turn towards the beach of Aegeon Beach Hotel. It is not necessary to sit in a lounge chair, but even if you decide, it costs about €5 per person. Otherwise, there is plenty of sand to lie down and turquoise sea to swim without being charged.
